POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, this position will pursue collaborative partnerships with area businesses and organizations to secure foods to expand Transitions’ Food Recovery Program. Working with the Director of Operations, Food Recovery Driver and Kitchen staff, the Coordinator will also be responsible for developing and maintaining food pick-up schedules, data collection and monitoring for program analysis and grant reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Identify, solicit and cultivate local food donations from businesses throughout Columbia and the surrounding areas for the Food Recovery Program.
  2. Develop and maintain master list of business contacts for Food Recovery Program.
  3. Track all donations and solicit new businesses on an on-going basis.
  4. Maintain internal data collection documents to monitor and evaluate program
  5. Work with kitchen staff to coordinate the use of recovered food in daily meals
  6. Coordinate pick-up of donated food with Driver and business.
  7. Provide program information as need for newsletters, grant reports, and other marketing material.
  8. May have to drive to pick up food in limited situation.
  9. Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Operations.

 

 REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related applications
2. Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
3. Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills
4. Excellent follow-through and customer service skills.
5. High level of personal initiative and ability to work with minimal oversight.
6. High School Graduate
7. Driver’s license
8. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  1. Associates Degree.
  2. Background in health and nutrition; education
  3. Experience in a similar position or in a non-profit organization.
