Soda City Duck Race 2018

Hello!
First, we appreciate all of the support you have given to our efforts of making The Soda City Duck Race a success.We have been closely following the progress of Hurricane Florence and it’s impact on South Carolina. In conjunction with GAME (the company who sets up the race), we have decided to change from a Duck Race to a Duck Pluck! With the projected rain fall and runoff, the water levels will be too high to safely conduct a race in the river.
We are excited about the Duck Pluck and want to make it just as successful. We will set up a large pool at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater, Sunday the 16th starting at 3pm. One of our teams, Mrs. Miller’s 3rd grade class, who have chosen homelessness as their charity, will do the honors and help us pluck the winners!
Please remember the homeless in our community during times like these, especially. We are thankful Transitions will open their doors for shelter from the inclement weather to ensure everyone’s safety. That is why it is even more important in these times to continue the push for duck adoptions to make the fund raising as successful as possible, so they can continue their life changing work in our community. NextHome Specialists have partnered with Transitions by helping them raise money through a Rubber Duck Race. The inaugural Soda City Duck Race will be used to help Transitions reach fundraising goals and bring together the community.
