28 Jul Isabel’s Story
Miss Isabel came to Transitions alone and afraid. She lived in a trailer in the woods near Winnsboro for 18 years, but after her family died off, emergency services dropped her off in Columbia. That is when Isabel came to Transitions. Our staff ended up driving her to her trailer (with no water or electricity at the time) in the woods to get her belongings. After 4 short months, Isabel received her keys to her own apartment! With a strong will and determination; she vowed never to return to her old address in the rural area of SC stating “I’m not going back up there in those woods.” While living at Transitions Isabel won the hearts of many with her “Oh No” responses, and telling all who would listen to her exactly what she wanted. Her dream was to learn how to use an elevator again, meet friends her age, learn places to visit, find a place to play bingo, and finally to have her own apartment. Isabel is looking forward to meeting new friends, playing bingo, and exploring the city of Columbia in a fun way. Congratulations Isabel! Dreams are never impossible!
