Transitions Success Stories August 2017
Congratulations to Odell for achieving one full year of sobriety! In order for Odell to change his life, he said he had to change himself from the inside out. The last few days, Odell has been keeping a chip from his AA group in his pocket to remind him of being sober now for a full year! He has also been working hard keeping employed at USC since October. At Transitions, you will see him working diligently in the kitchen or wherever he is needed. He attributes his success to staying focused, going to AA, and attending groups and classes at Transitions.
Nivea is in her own apartment! She recently had to replace her old car for traveling back and forth to her jobs. Nivea is very happy and surely appreciates Transitions and staff for being there for her when things were tough. She said “People just don’t know how much Transitions can help them if they want help”. So proud of her showing us her new lease from her landlord that we were able to assist her with for Rapid Rehousing so she can afford her new car!
Frank got a job working with the Salvation Army working in the kitchen at Transitions and the Inclement Weather Center while he was a resident at Transitions. He took part in our Mentoring Program and is still friends and in contact with the Mentor he had at Transitions. He used the on-site clinic Eau Claire Cooperative Healthcare to help with his medical needs for blood pressure, better eating habits and resources for dental work. He is now working full time at Home Instead Senior Care. We referred him to the Cooperative Ministry’s Autos for Opportunities and he got a car to help him get to and from his job! He has reconciled with his daughter and his aunt and they are all happily living together.
